HRS Business Run Cologne 2009

The HRS Business Run Cologne 2009 took place on 27th August 2009 with a total of 4500 runners. The run itself was 5 km, went over paved ways through the Cologne Cityforest and also consisted of a soft incline. The weather was warm and humid but did not spoil the good atmosphere.

Start of the run was 19.00 h next to the NetCologne Leichtathletikstadium of the Deutsche Sporthochschule, from Hasenkamp 4 mixed teams started, each with 3 participants, Wilma Buhr, Angela Haas, Ivonne Lucht, Janis Busch, Jörg Eikermann, Malte Ehrgott, Dominik Finster, Stefan Glade, Markus Kerz, Mareck Löhmer, Thomas Stratkötter und Pascal Zinn.

Our particpants, loudly supported and cheered by their enthusiastic Hasenkamp-colleagues, ran between 20.02 und 32.14, which were very good results for all of them.

The photos below show the fun, all „hasenkämper“ had.

TIBET – Monasteries open their treasuries

Tibet and its unknown monastric treasures are in the focus of the next exhibition at the Villa Hügel, Essen. From 19th August to 26th November 2006 the Villa Hügel will be showing sculptures, richly coloured embroidered silk wall hangings, fire gilded mandalas and much more: around 150 exhibits of religious art from the treasure houses of Tibetan monasteries, some of them dating back as far as 1500 years. Most of these priceless objects have never before left the country and thereby making this exhibition a unique cultural opportunity.

The preparation time by hasenkamp took about two years. In September 2004 Hans-Ewald Schneider, President of hasenkamp, went to Tibet together with Prof. Dr. Jeong-hee Lee-Kalisch, Professor at the department of East Asia of the Art Historical Institute of the Free University of Berlin and curator of the exhibition. In May 2005 a second trip to Tibet by Stefan Behnke, hasenkamp, followed to record the exact measurements of all objects to be packed. Altogether 140 loans, from „ spiritual masters“ to illuminated manuscripts of over 200 kg of weight, longhorn trumpets, wall hangings (so-called thankas) up to jewellery had to be packed and 40 crates with a volume weight of over 6.000 kg had to be produced in the hasenkamp joinery.

The greatest challenge was the tranport logistics, as Air China has the exclusive right for all flights from and to Tibet, but serves Lhasa only with relatively small aircrafts. After long negotiations hasenkamp came to an agreement with Air China so that correspondent aircraft changes were made for the transport of the empty crates from Chengdu to Lhasa and for the later transport of the packed crates from Lhasa to Chengdu. In this way 2 large Airbus aircrafts with a loading height of over 160cm were used for the transport of the crates.

A further problem, which however, was well-known before, was working in a height of over 4000 m above sea level. Especially the carrying of the crates and the packing of the objects, which demanded frequent kneeling and made itself noticable by a considerable lack of oxygen. The successful passing of the day was followed by the next problem, the sleeplessness, also activated by the lack of oxygen and the subconsciously present fear of getting no breath.

Ten so-called ‚spiritual masters‘ of the 15th century from the monastery of Mindröl Ling from the highlands of Tibet were packed. Each ‘master‘ got his own crate and on location was completely cut into foam.

Packing of the sculpture with the 1000 arms „Avalokitesvara“ from the Potella Palace in Lhasa. Many of the actual 1000 arms are loose or in danger of breaking: a challenge for each art packer.

All crates for the air transport had to be weighed by these scales.

The transport has started. As there are no technical devices available, the transport is done by ‘manpower‘.

Ready for loading

Everything went well. 40 crates have arrived at the Villa Hügel and are waiting to be unpacked.

MOVING AT SCHLOSS BELLEVUE
.

In 1955 Schloss Bellevue was assigned as the second office and residence of the German Federal President. The first renovation lasted for 4 years (1955 to 1959). He resided here until 1985.

Bellevue was throughly renovated between 1986 und 1987 and and in parts  newly reconstructed. The interior decoration originated mainly from Schloss Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel.

Since the beginning 1994 Schloss Bellevue is the first office of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany and insofar place of many representative events, talks and receptions of the Federal President. In 2004 during the term of office of Johannes Rau Schloss Bellevue was cleared by hasenkamp for further renovation- and reconstruction works.

During the reconstruction phase (2004-2005) the high-value, antique furniture was stored at the hasenkamp warehouse which is up to top level security standard and fully equipped with fire protection, air-condition and 24/7 surveillance. The reconstruction- and renovation works lasted till December 2005. Parallel to the last building measurements the furniture was moved back by hasenkamp from November 2005 until January 2006. Every day, for 12 weeks more than 500 cubic meters of furniture, consisting of valuable paintings, antiques and further pieces of art were transported to Schloss Bellevue in a logistic high performance.

On 8th January 2006 the present Federal President Horst Köhler invited the public to an open day at Bellevue. The first 50 visitors were guided through Bellevue by the Head of State and his wife personally.
